June Birmingham Sake Club - Yonetsuru Brewery

£12.50
sold out

Special Guest from Japan! Yonetsuru Brewery Comes to Birmingham

We’re pulling together something last minute and really exciting!

At the very last minute, but with a lot of excitement, we’re thrilled to have Yoichiro Umetsu, the kuramoto (brewery owner) of Yonetsuru Sake Brewery in Yamagata, Japan, to Birmingham Sake Club!

Umetsu-san is flying in for an intimate evening with us to share his philosophy, his sake, and his deep commitment to terroir, tradition, and gratitude. Yonetsuru was one of the earliest adopters of GI Yamagata, and they’re known for championing local rice, showcasing their region’s identity through their sake, and brewing with the spirit of thankfulness (hence their poetic slogan: Grateful Cranes).

Here’s what’s in store:

A guided tasting of five sakes

Three available in the UK

Two that have never been poured here before

All hosted by Umetsu-san himself.

To honour his love of local character and regional expression, we’ll be pairing 3 sake with classic British dishes that celebrate our own… terroir?

📍 Location: Grain & Glass

📅 Date: Wednesday 25th June

🕢 Time: 19:00 - 20:30

💷 Price: £12.50

This is a rare opportunity to meet one of Japan’s most heartfelt brewers, hear his story, and taste sakes you truly can’t find anywhere else in the UK.

🎟️ Spaces are extremely limited so book now!
